Hunting Logs, which classes gain access to after their first class quest, are a series of one-time hunts that provide a bonus amount of experience points after defeating a certain number of enemies. Additional experience points are provided upon completing a "Rank" (Set of ten hunts) and unlocks the next difficulty rank. Each class has their own hunting log, and credit can only be received for defeating the monster on the associated class.(For example, Thaumaturge has the Deep Jungle Coeurl on its 37th log, but defeating it on Gladiator will not give you credit on you Thaumaturge log.)
Upon enlisting in a Grand Company you will receive a Company Hunting Log as well. This one is not class specific, and the targets are much more difficult. Instead of experience points you receive Grand Company Seals upon completion of an entry.
